Into the Wild at Kabalebo Nature Resort
In mid-west Suriname, amidst the exceptionally beautiful, pristine, and uninhabited Amazon region, lies Suriname’s most exclusive accommodation: the Kabalebo Nature Resort Hotel.
You will enter a true paradise for nature lovers, as the Kabalebo area is completely uninhabited by humans. Its residents include deer, pingo (agoutis), pakira (forest pigs), capybaras, tapirs, and wild cats, including the rare jaguar.
The chance of encountering one or more of these mammals is exceptionally high. Various fish species, such as anjoemara and red tail catfish, are abundant due to the “catch and release” policy. It’s a fisherman’s paradise with a guaranteed catch! And what a catch, large anjoemara or catfish are not uncommon. The biodiversity in this area completes the perfect picture.
The stunning Misty Mountain, clear river, tranquility, and purity give this area a unique character unlike anywhere else in Suriname. The silence is only broken by the sounds of numerous birds: green ibises, white-necked cormorants, harpy eagles, various kingfishers, hummingbirds, countless parrots including colorful macaws, and many other bird species are commonly found here.
