What type of transport is used during the tour?
The journey includes a mix of bus and boat transport:
Bus from Paramaribo to Albina
Boat crossing to Saint-Laurent du Maroni
Bus to Apatou
Boat to Camp Wadaa
All transport is arranged and guided.
What time does the tour start on Day 1?
Departure is 7:00 a.m. from Paramaribo. We recommend arriving at the meeting point at least 15 minutes early.
Do I need a passport or visa?
Yes. You need a valid passport for the border crossing to Saint-Laurent du Maroni (French Guiana). Visa requirements depend on your nationality, so please check in advance.
What is the accommodation like at Camp Wadaa?
You’ll stay in comfortable lodges with:

Electricity and basic amenities are available.
Are meals included?
Yes! All meals are included, from dinner on Day 1 through breakfast on Day 4. Expect delicious dishes inspired by Maroon and local cuisine.
Can beginners join the Mina Falls and Apuma Falls excursions?
Yes. No prior hiking or boating experience is needed. Experienced local guides ensure safety and support throughout the journey.

Is swimming allowed at the waterfalls?
Yes! Swimming is allowed at Mina Falls and near Apuma Falls, depending on water conditions and guide instructions.
Is there mobile phone reception or Wi-Fi?
Mobile phone reception is very limited, and there is no Wi-Fi at camp. This is a perfect opportunity to disconnect and enjoy nature. Wi-Fi can be added as an optional extra to your tour package upon request.
Is the tour suitable for children?
The tour is best suited for children aged 8 and up who enjoy nature and adventure. Parents should consider the hiking and long travel days.
